Gotharman’s Tuul is a new 4-channel multi-function module that offers a rich set of multi-FX, oscillator, filter, and modulator capabilities.

Multi-function modules are popular because they regroup many functions into a single module. These can include modulators, oscillators, effects, and small utility functions such as scalers.

A new alternative for modules such as the Expert Sleepers Disting mk4, FX Aid, and others is now coming from Denmark. Gotharman’s has released Tuul, a new, powerful multi-FX module for Eurorack.

Gotharman’s Tuul

Tuul is a new 12HP multi-function module featuring four independent channels. Each channel of Gotharman’s Tuul can operate as a multi-FX processor, oscillator, filter, or modulator.

In practice, the first channel can be, for example, a multi-FX unit; the second, a modulator; the third, another FX unit; and the fourth, an oscillator. You can also assign four channels to FX. It is not known whether two channels can be linked as a stereo processor.

The multi-FX menu offers a wide range of algorithms, including granulator, reverb, delay, chorus, comb filter, compressor, EQ, pitch shifter, pitch shaper, phase, sample pitch, and more. Each algorithm is fully configurable with a range of parameters.

If you choose the oscillator, you can have various waveforms, including sine, triangle, saw, square, FOF, and cymbal. Each oscillator waveform offers many tweakable parameters.

Then, the filter offers dual or vowel filter characteristics to choose from. The dual offers two BPFs, two LPFs, and two HPFs in parallel, or HPF into LPF. The vowel filter has 64 vowel tables, each having 16 formants to morph between.

The filter section is also fully programmable with classic controls like cutoff, resonance, and more.

Fourth and final option is to use the channel as an 8-step modulator. Here, you can set the rise/fall time and curve, hold time, level, and ripples for each step. Plus, you can set the sustain portion. The modulator can run freely or be triggered by an external source.

This per-step adaptability enables very complex modulators. All these per-channel settings can be stored in 30 memory locations, accessible via the knobs and the color OLED display.

The front panel has eight inputs and four outputs. Four CV inputs allow you to automate the parameters.

First Impression

At first glance, this is an exciting multi-function module. I hope it’s possible to link two channels in stereo; otherwise, it’s limited to mono processing, which would be disappointing.

Gotharman’s Tuul is now available for pre-order at an introductory price of 395€, down from 439€. Shipping will start in February 2026.
