Rigid Audio Ion Storm, a cross-synthesis cinematic transition designer for Kontakt 6

Rigid Audio Ion Storm is a new sample-based cinematic transition designer melting wavetables, granular and percussive elements in a Kontakt 6 instrument.

The third party Kontakt library market is huge and highly competitive. There are big players, but there are also small ones. Especially those offer a great-sounding library with an unbeatable price/value factor. One of my favorites is Rigid Audio, which specializes in Synthesizer libraries. No wonder, hehe.

Rigid Audio recently released a new KONTAKT instrument focusing on cinematic transitions.

Ion Storm runs in the full version of Kontakt 6 and offers a cross-synthesis engine melting wavetables (32), granular (128), and percussive elements (128). More precisely, five distinct engines says Rigid Audio.

The virtual instrument consists of two pages: the main one with 6 sequencer lines with automatable parameters and a mix section. The latter gives you full volume control over your sounds. Ion Storm can create all kinds of transitional elements like up- and down lifters, pitch-risers, noise-sweeps, and the like.

Furthermore, it ships with 256 built-in presets. If that’s not enough, it hosts a randomizer for patch creation with a single button.

Sounds like an interesting virtual instrument. Especially for film composition Iron Storm could be tempting.

Rigid Audio Ion Storm is available now for an introductory offer of 9,63€ (reg. 56,99€) until February 15th, 2023. It requires the full Kontakt 6.4.2+ and is not compatible with Kontakt Player.
