Tiptop Audio TRIAX8 expands its innovative polyphonic ART system with a massive 8-voice dual oscillator analog oscillator for Eurorack.
With ART, Tiptop Audio has invented an innovative system that cleverly adds polyphony to Eurorack systems without excessive modular purchases and cable clutter. It sends monophonic and polyphonic signals, including 1V/oct, gate, and MIDI information, via the ART system, which uses the Polytip jacks (USB-C socket).
The first polyphonic modules have been available since the beginning of 2025. Now Tiptop Audio is taking another step with the ART System with the TRIAX8, which was presented at Superbooth 2024 and is now available.
Tiptop Audio TRIAX8
TRIAX8 is a new 40HP 8-voice triangle-core oscillator for Eurorack, featuring two analog oscillators per voice for a total of 16. According to Tiptop Audio, TRIAX8 offers true eight-note polyphony with upcoming MPE support.
Each oscillator has five individually shapable waveforms, including the revered XOR waveform and adjustable pulse-width modulation. You have independent level control for each waveform in the mix, which is neat.
Plus, you have a sub-oscillator for extra bottom end. Extra spice adds capabilities, adding the rich through-zero linear FM capabilities of the oscillator with its nine FM configurations and five FM sources.
Alongside this, you can work with two sets of hard- and soft-sync options and cross-oscillator modulation.
The highlight of the TRIAX8 is its integration into the ART system. This ensures that all 16 oscillators are in tune for beautiful polyphonic sounds.
Thanks to various modes and voice management tools, you can not only play it in polyphonic but also in unison and dual modes. Velocity, key tracking, and independent vibrato control are also available—the first with a dedicated Polytip output.
Further, each of the eight polyphonic voices features per-voice mix and gate outputs, as well as full-module gate and audio-level mix outputs.
First Impression
With the release of the Vortex 6 wavetable oscillator in early 2025 and this new flagship 8-voice analog oscillator, Tiptop Audio has laid the foundation for the ART system. Now it’s time for the musician to use it.
Equally important is that the market is growing with ART-based modules from other developers, so that it becomes, sooner or later, a bigger topic in the Eurorack field. It’s not an easy path, that’s for sure, but the technology is fascinating.

One cannot operate this module without the octopus, and the Octopus won’t give one MIDI-to 1v/Oct CV for use with existing VCOs. Polyphony to sound good is always an exercise in restraint in modulation and getting the chain to more or kess match which is not the point of Eurorack for me. ART, to me, is an expensive solution looking for a problemm.
