Buchla & Friends 2025: Eowave goes 1U with six new 1U modules: MIXY, SIFTER, GERMANIAC, LEVERS, OSCY, and BYE BYE.
Buchla & Friends 2025 officially starts today, and there will be some news from the Synthesizer and Eurorack world.
Eowave from France brings its first 1U modules to LA.
Eowave 1U
There will be six new 1U modules from the developer of the Quadrantid Swarm or the Tempête Magnétique quad filter. All details about the modules are unavailable now, but you can clearly see what they are and can do.
MIXY is a mini mixer with four inputs, dedicated level controls, and output. Then, SIFTER is an analog resonant filter with a single input and lowpass and highpass outputs. It offers controls over the cutoff and resonance. CV control is available for the cutoff.
GERMANIAC is a 1U version of Eowave’s beloved Geramanium/transistor VCA module with a single input and output. It offers CV-controllable warmth control to spice up your signals and level control for the VCA with patchable CV in.
LEVERS is a dual VCA with two identical sides. Each offers an input & output connectivity, a VCA level control with a CV input.
Next to this is OSCY, a new 1U analog oscillator with CV-controllable pitch control and a 1v/oct input. It has a pulse width control with two independent oscillator outputs (saw/pulse).
And to conclude this new Eowave 1U lineup, we have the BYE BYE, a line phones output module. It offers a stereo input on L/R mono jacks, and a line out and phones out with dedicated level controls.
First Impression
At first glance, it is a solid first lineup of 1U modules. There is nothing groundbreaking new here. My highlight here is GERMANIAC, the 1U version of the Germanium/transistor VCA. It’s a lovely module to crank up your signals with heat.
