MeldaProduction MDelay is a new free flexible delay plugin and the 38th plugin in their massive free MFreeFXBundle package.
Producing music has never been cheaper. This is mainly made possible by the countless free plugins. More important, the quality of these releases has increased massively in recent years. They can easily keep up with the payware plugins, not always in terms of features, but in terms of sound.
MeldaProduction, for example, offers a super popular package called the MFreeFXBundle, which supercharges your DAW with 37 quality plugins for free. The new MDelay is already the 38th plugin for this impressive free bundle.
MeldaProduction MDelay
So far, the MFreeFXBundle lacked a delay. Et voilà, MeldaProduction has the answer. The MDelay is a new free delay plugin with an extensive range of parameters and creative controls.
The plugin offers three distinct delay operation modes, including serial mode, that create a denser echo by processing the second tap through the output of the first.
You can also choose between two delay algorithms. Tape Mode gives you vintage, pitch-altering echos, while Modern Mode produces clean digital delays.
MDelay uses two taps that are fully customizable in a dedicated panel. Each offers control over the gain, panorama, time, and shuffle. The latter introduces rhythmic shuffling between the delay tapes, which is great for evolving delays.
Then, you can work with three delay modes. Default, classic, and ping-ping which creates stereo ping-pong echoes, alternating between the left and right channels.
That’s not all that Meldaproduction MDelay offers. You can also shape the delay tone with built-in resonant lowpass/highpass filters, add spice with the built-in saturator, and sync them in various ways.
Of course, MeldaProduction won’t leave you alone and ships MDelay with many presets, giving you a perfect start.
First Impression
At first look, it’s a lovely, comprehensive, free delay with some neat additions—great addition to the massive MFreeFXBundle.
MeldaProduction MDelay is now available for free download as part of the free MFreeFXBundle bundle. It runs as a 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
