Erica Synths has released an easy-to-use wavefolder (fold) module that completes the EDU DIY system made in collaboration with Moritz Klein.
For the past few months, Erica Synths has released a new module every 6 weeks in the form of a DIY kit for their new EDU DIY system. This was developed in close collaboration with musician and YouTuber Moritz Klein. So far there have been 8 modules and a case available.
Today it strikes 9. The ninth module, the wavefolder aka fold module, is here, completing the EDU DIY modular synth system.
Erica Synths Wavefolder
The new module is a super simple BJT-based double wavefolder. It has a main input for sine or triangle waves. Additionally, you have a secondary input that will convert sawtooth waves into triangle waves in order to take full advantage of the fold. Then, it has an intensity knob that controls the folding process.
A wavefolder is a great module to infuse a ton of unusual, wild timbres in your patches. Erica Synths promises effects that range from a slight dash of brightness to harsh metallic drones. As we know from wavefolders. A must-have in every system in opinion, with which you can clearly move classic waveforms in new directions

It’s been a long journey to get there, but I’m happy to see that the system is now complete.
