Erica Synths has released a new affordable DIY Eurorack case in which your self-soldered mki x es EDU modules will find a perfect home.
With the new mki x es EDU module series, Erica Synths and Moritz Klein have created a brilliant series of DIY modules. Not only can you take your first steps in soldering your first module, they also helps you learn about the circuit, design and the function in detail. Theory and practice in one great package at an unbeatable price.
A classic VCO and a clever double VCA are already available from the series. But every module also needs a home. Erica Synths created one.
Erica Synths DIY Eurorack Case
There are currently two modules (VCO, VCA) from the new DIY series by Erica Synths and Moritz Klein. Musicians who are already working with a modular Eurorack Synthesizer have certainly found a cozy place for the modules. For every newcomer, Erica Synths now offers an affordable DIY Eurorack case for the mki x es EDU modules.
But attention: the enclosure and the PSU are exclusively designed to accommodate the new mki x es EDU series modules and are not compatible with other Eurorack modules. The reason can be found in design of the case. They use pre-drilled threaded holes to accommodate the modules of the mki x es. edu system in a specific order.
To reduce the overall cot of the case, Erica Synths uses pre-drilled threaded holes to accommodate the modules of the mki x es. edu system in a specific order. So no threaded inserts or sliding nuts.
The power of the case is based on a DC/DC converter that turns +12VDC from a wall wart AC/DC adapter into eurorack standard bipolar +-12V. This ensure the voltage in your eurorack system never exceeds 12V and any area in your eurorack case is safe to touch.
A nice little case. It’s a pity that it’s only limited to your own modules.
Erica Synths EDU DIY Euroack case is available now for 110€ + VAT + shipping. Shipping starts on February 22, 2022.
