Korg drumlogue, Analog Meets Digital Multi-Engine In A New Drum Machine

Korg takes the next multi-engine step and builds the award-winning engine into a new upcoming analog/digital drum machine called drumlogue

I’m a big fan of the multi-engine that Korg first installed in the Prologue and later in the Minilogue xd and NTS-1. Especially, the combination of analog and digital sound generation is very innovative here. The fact that you can develop new algorithms for the multi-engine makes it all the more versatile.
Now Korg and his team of developers around Etienne Noreau-Hebert and Yoshihito Yamada seem to be going one step further and are building this into a new, powerful hybrid drum machine, the drumlogue.

The drumlogue is a hybrid grooveboox that is currently under development. It relies on raw analog parts and flexible digital voices based on the beloved KORG ‘logue SDK multi-engineThanks to the latter, you can change the sound character of the drumlogue in seconds. For example, through FM synthesis, physical modeling, etc. as you already know with the -logue keyboards. In my opinion, this is very exciting and innovative. So a hybrid drum machine that you can constantly evolve in the sound as you want.

The developers promise intuitive hands-on control for quick editing as well as a dedicated librarian for easy patch and sequence management. An exciting project. As a minilogue xd and NTS-1 owner and a true fan of this technology, I can’t wait to see the final product.

Korg drumlogue releases date and price TBA.
