SynthFest France 2025: FCPro Audio Mixthesizer Matrix is a new expandable stereo matrix mixer with a basic 4×4 setup up to 16×16.
FCPro Audio has unveiled several new products for SynthFest France 2025, which will also be the news for Superbooth 25.
For the second new product, the Italian company FCPro Audio takes the unique matrix mixer concept that is more familiar to the Eurorack world and puts it into its desktop Mixthesizer format, making it available for classic nonmodular gear.
FCPro Audio Mixthesizer Matrix
The Mixthesizer Matrix is a new stereo matrix mixer system. The special feature of the FCPro Audio Mixthesizer Matrix is its modularity.
Each module has 11HP and offers a 4-input and 4-output on stereo jacks, giving you up to 16 (4×4) possible stereo output paths. Using the dip switches on the back, you can set each in and out independently to mono or stereo operation. It provides 16 potentiometers for volume control on each volume path.
The flexible channels allow each input to be routed to one or more outputs simultaneously with a simple turn on the individual knobs. The second image shows the 4×4 configuration, the smallest but already very creatively usable version.
You can also create an 8×8 version with four modules, 12×12 with nine modules, 16×16, or even more upon request.
On the backside, you have four stereo inputs and four stereo outputs, a solid XLR 5-pin DC power input, an ON/OFF switch, and a dip switch matrix. The latter sets the channels’ mono/stereo configuration.
Matrix Mixer Usage?
Matrix mixers are popular tools in Eurorack modular synths for sending signals in different directions. They’re just as exciting in non-modular environments. You can use them for flexible routing and mixing of audio signals between multiple inputs and outputs.
For example, you can use the FCPro Audio Mixthesizer Matrix to create complex effect routings or in live performances.
First Impression
It would be a very nice idea to offer matrix mixers from the Eurorack world to desktop users with stereo connectivity. It’s not cheap, but now you can use them with your nonmodular gear.
FCPro Audio Mixthesizer Matrix 4×4 will be available on May 20, 2025 (after Superbooth 25) for 500€. The price for the other configurations are on request.
