Ocean Swift Synthesis revives its Windows-only free Legacy Synthesizer plugins (Enterprise, Aeolian series…) with VST3 support.
In 2020, Ocean Swift Synthesis ceased business activities and discontinued its Synthesizer plugins, which had been available as free downloads.
Four years later, in 2024, OSS returned under a new operation structure with a new synth Kontakt synth library (Porphyra Hybrid) and later with a handy wavetable generator software. Today, Ocean Swift Synthesis announced that the free legacy synth plugins are back in the Part 1 package.
One downer remains: they now have VST3 support but no macOS or Linux support.
Ocean Swift Legacy Synthesizer Plugins
The company writes:
These plugins were originally available for purchase on our website until 2020, when we made them free to the community. However, for the last year and a half, they have been unavailable as we restructured our brand and website. Now, they are back with an update! All plugins now include VST3 versions, making them more future-proof for modern DAWs.
As a bonus, we are also including all preset packs and extra downloadable content that were previously sold separately, giving you the full experience right out of the box.
The Ocean Swift Legacy Synthesizer plugins part 1 bundle features five free plugins, all of which are making a comeback with VST3 support.
OSS Enterprise 1 is a hybrid Synthesizer plugin with four oscillators that offer multi-type synthesis, including virtual analog, wavetable, additive, and vector synthesis. It also has dual filters, envelopes, LFOs, and a built-in multi-FX processor. It comes with over 400 ready-to-use presets.
Aeolian Meditation & Dream Box are two powerful additive Synthesizer plugins. Unlike the Aeolian Meditation keys version, the Dream Box doesn’t feature the OSC control feature in favor of a fully polyphonic rack version and various core improvements and optimizations.
Then, Xbox Control is a neat plugin that turns your Xbox or Playstation controller into a MIDI controller. Another new reborn plugin is the Shruti Box VST, which is an additive synthesis emulation of a traditional Indian drone instrument.
Finally, the Music Handyman Toolbox is a utility with a set of useful and musically relevant math functions and references for musicians, sound designers, and audio developers.
According to Ocean Swift, the Legacy Synthesizer plugins Part 2 bundle is planned for Q2 2025, bringing back Polyphenom 1+2, Defiant WT, QuirQuiQ and more.
First Impression
Five nice free plugins. It’s a shame they’re still only available for Windows in 2025. I hope they can be ported to macOS and Linux at some point. Then, the music producer community would talk about them even more. Alternatively, consider the open-source way and allow other developers to port them.
Ocean Swift free Legacy Synthesizer plugins are available now for Windows only as a VST and VST3 plugin.
