FlatSix Seventh Summoner is a new 1U sequencer module for Eurorack and new swappable firmware for the Nocturne Alchemy platform.
In July 2024, I reported on the Arp of Darkness, a creative 1U arpeggiator based on flexible Arduino hardware. I say flexible because the module firmware can be easily swapped. So far, there have been two versions: a CV keyboard and an arpeggiator.
Shortly before the end of the year 2024, FlatSix released the Seventh Summoner, a new sequencer firmware for the Nocturne Alchemy platform.
FlatSix Seventh Summoner
Seventh Summoner is a new 1U performance sequencer that can hold up to 32 notes and store/recall up to six patterns on the fly.
The module gives you hands-on control over the playback direction, slew, direction, note transposition, and clock division. Using hardware buttons, you can program the notes into the sequence.
Then, it hosts the unique Summoner function. It allows you to record these dynamic manipulations into a meta-sequencing layer. Chain up to 16 of your sequences, complete with all your adjustments, and watch them come to life like spirits in the grasp of a master Summoner.
Yes, this module is also part of the Nocturne Alchemy platform. As the FlatSix Seventh Summoner owner, you have full access to all other firmware versions (Slight of Hand and Arp Of Darkness).
First Impression
A very exciting alternative firmware for the Arp of Darkness arpeggiator module. It’s neat that you can also buy it as a standalone module with a dedicated faceplate. I’m excited to see what firmware will be available for it.
FlatSix Modular Seventh Summoner is available now for 229,46€ + shipping from the US + taxes from its official Reverb store.
