Synclavier Ork II is an upcoming additive Synthesizer that combines the capabilities of Synclavier II and Regen in a flagship keyboard.
Synclavier is a legendary Synthesizer brand. Founded in the 1970s, the developers are among the pioneers of digital synthesis. With the Synclavier II, also known as ORK, they combined customizable additive synthesis, FM, and sampling.
New England Digital, the company behind Synclavier, ceased operations in 1993 and then 26 years later made a software comeback with the Synclavier GO for iOS. However, its big comeback came in 2022 with the Regen, a desktop synth that revives the Synclavier II DSP engine in a more powerful and improved form.
This week, they showcased their next step, the Synclavier Ork II, at the London Synth & Pedal Expo 2025.
Synclavier Ork II
Yes, you are right. A new Synclavier, a new flagship synthesizer, is in the works.
This photo was taken by music producer Andrew Ward (ArpQuadra) at the London Synth & Pedal Expo 2025. During the talk, the developers said that demand for a Synclavier keyboard was so high that they began developing one.
The team showed the basics of the new Synclavier Synthesizer in a document at the event. However, neither a prototype nor a picture of an actual unit was displayed—just this rendered graphic.
It’s called Synclavier Ork II and brings the capabilities of the Synclavier II and Regen into a new mighty keyboard instrument. It will include all vintage and modern synths features, including additive and FM synthesis with subtractive elements and samples with resynthesis.
Moreover, they promise that these features will be enhanced and more flexible. What they will look like is not yet known.
Effects & Sequencer
Then, Synclavier Ork II will host high-quality DSP effects suits, including a lush reverb, a delay for rhythmic echoes and all kinds of time-based effects, and various modulation FX like flanger, phase shifter, and more.
Another highlight will be an integrated multi-track sequencer that can record onboard sounds, external MIDI instruments, and audio. It is still too early for details
The Synclavier developers promise that the Ork II will have an intuitive interface with hands-on performance controls. It will feature a high-resolution touch display, tactile knobs, and buttons for seamless navigation.
The Synclavier Ork II’s price and release date have not been announced. However, after talking to the team, Andrew estimates it will be a high-priced Synthesizer à la Groove Engine 3rd Wave. But this isn’t set in stone. It could be cheaper or more expensive.
An exciting new Synthesizer project. I hope the user interface is more fun and hands-on than the recent Regen desktop synth. The menu structure and touch concept put me off a bit.
Stay tuned for more information.

Ok, Synclavier again… but… So many buttons and O N E Knob ??? Are you kidding? We have NOW 2025 not 1984…
Replace every red button with a pot…. than maybe it could be fun. At this stage it is no revolution, sorry.
Why you don’t work together with Arturia, and build a controller for their Synclavier plug-in with a inside running Synclavier VST….
A Synclavier is way out more than the Synth…. every one knows… it’s sampling, visual editing, good sounding I/O stage and many more… and at the end the phantastic sounding library…
Well, I love this idea – I had been hoping for this to happen as the original Regen felt a bit like a prototype that was released and I just didn’t like the physical design – the fact the standoffs on the case are visible, the squishy buttons, etc. I felt that they missed what people who were interested in it would have paid more for – premium materials, ‘those’ buttons, ‘that’ knob. Actually, having used the Synclavier USB knob with the iPad for a while now, I think it is a remarkable way working – very quick and tactile. Excited by this, hopefully they will go all in on the quality and features.
gimme gimme gimme!
Sampling option feature?
good start, But Respectfully synclavier Team >> this expensive large beast of a synth only makes sense to exist in already cramped studios & be uniquely useful in the market place if if its a KNOB filled synth !… otherwise a mapped vst can nail the synclavier for pennies on the $ & with no premium studio space your Regen already cover the just a box of buttons approach which you know from feedback is not what the people are craving from their hardware ! knobs guy knobs ! at least 20 to 30 of them like the 3rd WAVE, go all the way or do nothing, no more time for half stepping its 2025 time for your prophet 5 moment its time to push the synclavier concept to its logical finality!
I’m joining the choir, please think twice about the GUI and involve a bunch of people with extensive UX experience before running away to mass production, and this may potentially become a real hit!
How about just building an affordable modern ORK MIDI controller for Arturia’s Synclavier software?
I want to own my Synclavier, not lease it.
always wanted a hardware ORK with one knob and the button interface. yum! also an TV100!
however, I do not want:
‘patches’ instead of mod and pitch wheels.
a UI makeover to modernize it.
anything RED about it. please use something most color blind people can see in daylight.

1/8 inch jacks? cool, what do they do!
put some wheels on it, and I’ll buy it.
