SuperflyDSP Flying-Reverb is a new free multi-mode reverb plugin with shimmer for macOS, Linux, and Windows.

The easiest way to make an instrument sound better is to add reverb to the signal chain. This makes even the least exciting or boring sound livelier. Every musician has countless reverbs. As a hardware pedal or as a plugin. And you can’t have too much reverb, can you?

SuperflyDSP is known in the music production world for its very solid free effects plugins. Today the developer has expanded his portfolio with the Flying-Reverb.

SuperflyDSP Flying-Reverb

Flying-Reverb is a new free reverb with the ability to simulate various types ranging from small room up to large concert halls. It includes three modes, including hall, room, and temple.

Then, there are also three distinct characters. Classic is a clean bread-and-butter reverb, shimmer gives you ethereal and celestial atmospheric reverbs and Lost is a shimmer with added artifacts.

On the control side, Flying-Reverb has a pre-delay with host sync tempo, a dry/wet mix slider, and tape saturation. With the latter, you can heat and juice to the reverb timbre. There is also a highpass and lowpass filter available. Plus, you activate a freeze function.

First Impression

At first glance a very comprehensive free reverb plugin. Not on the level of a Supermassive from ValhallaDSP but nice free reverb plugin.

SuperflyDSP is available now as a free download and runs as a VST3 and AU plugin on macOS, Linux, and Windows. No registration is required. The installer is on the developer website.
