Buchla and Friends 2026: Enjoy Electronics The Don is a new experimental quad-channel multi-FX module for Buchla modular synths.
Today is the first day of the Buchla and Friends 2026 event in LA. The event is organized by Buchla USA, but it’s not exclusively for Buchla enthusiasts.
Many international synthesizer and Eurorack manufacturers are also present. One company, however, has taken the event very seriously. The Italian developers of Enjoy Electronics have transformed the Godfather FX into a multi-FX processor for Buchla synths called The Don.
Enjoy Electronics The Don
The Don is a new one-knob-per-function quadraphonic multi-FX module for the Buchla 4U ecosystem. Enjoy Electronics has transformed the core elements of The Godfather into The Don, adding four channels, advanced effects, and creative routing.
It’s not a simple Eurorack to Buchla port. According to the developers, they completely redesigned the hardware, ergonomics, and signal architecture to integrate naturally within the 4U ecosystem.
The Don has four channels, each fully independent with its own creative effects, mixing options, and more.
Each Don channel consists of a delay, an infinite looper feedback, a stereo offset, a double-pulse delay, a saturator, 13 HP/LP filters, and a stereo reverb with a dedicated high-pass filter.
The strength of The Don, like The Godfather before it, lies in its high degree of channel flexibility. You can tweak each effect in detail with various parameters, and they are also CV-controllable.
Once set, you can mix your sounds with effects down to the last detail. Built-in mixing tools like a compressor with side-chain option, EQ, pan, stereo width, and gain stage offer a lot of shaping options at the mixing stage.
Spatialize & Animate Your Sounds
Beyond creative effects and mixing tools, Enjoy Electronics also integrated an experimental quadraphonic approach.
Users can spatialize their mix with adjustable spatialization controls (also via CVs), creating dynamic and engaging movements that wrap around the audience.
It has dedicated controls for animating the stereo image, allowing you to take it into immersive sound design.
To take things even further, it also hosts two multi-wave multi-assignable LFOs for modulating parameters right in the system. More advanced modulation is possible with the CV and gate inputs
Alongside this, you can find four independent trigger buttons, one on each channel, each with three independent triggering modes for creative routing options.
On the connection side, you have four audio inputs and four audio outputs. They can be configured as quadraphonic outputs or two stereo pairs. Further, you have RS minijack MIDI in/out, four CV ins, two gate ins, clock out, and two CV outs.
There is currently no demo for The Don. Since it’s based on The Godfather, you can get a general idea of what it’s like.
First Impression
At first glance, this is an exciting multi-FX module for the Buchla system, offering great flexibility. The module could be a fantastic upgrade for anyone working with multiple channels in the Buchla environment.
It’s also interesting to enter the quadraphonic music-making world. The price is high, but since there are relatively few Buchla users, the production run is small, and therefore the price is also higher.
The official retail price of Enjoy Electronics The Don will be 1600€. You can reverse a slot in the pre-order for a 300€ deposit and get it for 1299€ instead of 1600€. Availability is TBA.
