Love Hultén has created a custom Synthesizer with two Deckard’s Dream synths, an Osmose MPE synth, and a Meris pedal.

Anyone can buy a Synthesizer in a music shop with just a few clicks. A Love Hulten Synthesizer, however, is only available on commission. The Swedish audiovisual artist and woodworker transforms existing gear into unique, never-before-seen instruments.

LH has created many unique pieces for musicians in the past years. Two limited-edition books, already published, provide an overview of his creations. Love Hultén’s new synthesizer fulfills Deckard’s dream like no one before.

The latest Love Hultén is once again a unique piece, commissioned for a client. According to the designer, the client wanted a Synthesizer that was inspired by the Yamaha CS-50. Technically, however, it’s modeled on the Yamaha CS-80, or even two of them.

The special casing was designed from scratch and made of wood. For me, it has a retro sci-fi charm that would fit very well into the Blade Runner series

At its core, the new Love Hultén consists of two Deckard’s Dream Mk2 synthesizers, clones of the legendary Yamaha CS-80.

The keyboard is the Expressive E Osmose MPE synthesizer, which controls both DD Mk2s. Since the Osmose is also a synth, you essentially have three in one box.

Additionally, there is the Meris Mercury 7 stereo reverb pedal and a Soma Cosmos. A new control unit with colorful sliders and switches on the right was designed to provide hands-on access to all parameters.

Real-time sound visualization is also available. In the upper section, an oscilloscope is mounted in a custom-made enclosure that integrates seamlessly with the overall design.

Furthermore, there are custom, colorful switches in the keyboard area that also control certain functions.

The new Love Hultén instrument is not available for purchase. There is only one unit. However, individual components can be purchased from retailers.

The total price of the components is 12685€ at the current state. This does not include Love Hultén’s work or the materials he used. An expensive indulgence, but a beautiful, hand-crafted, unique instrument.

    • not sure how it would since it is a polyphonic synth with mpe. even if you had the option of having several tiers on screen, the DD has one mono output, so sync would only work if each module played a single note at a time, max.

unless you were to drill 16 holes in the back to add a single output for each voice, just so the scope could sync to it. which would indeed be pointless.
