UVI Falcon 2026 is a major free feature update to its flagship Synthesizer plugin, featuring new oscillators, effects, and more.
Yesterday, Spectrasonics dropped a bombshell with the announcement of Omnisphere 3. Now comes another big synth plugin news.
UVI has today unveiled Falcon 2026 without much teasing or so. It’s another major free upgrade for existing Falcon users with plenty of new features. And it’s its 10th anniversary. In 2015, they published Falcon as a transition from MachFive. Indeed, this marks the 10th year of free updates.
UVI Falcon 2026
No, there will not be a Falcon 4. UVI has decided to change its name; it will now be called Falcon 2026—a move similar to Apple’s naming of its OS updates.
Falcon 2026 is another free update for all existing customers that once again brings a ton of new features. However, one thing hasn’t much changed. The somewhat unattractive UI from previous versions persists, making it feel very outdated to me.
Even though they updated the interface with improved knobs, wording, fonts, and spacing, I hope they decide to completely overhaul the UI in the future to make it more attractive and easier to use.
Good news: many sound features have been added, making the plugin even more powerful and unique.
First, there are new oscillators. Alongside the previous 10+ engines, you can explore four new synthesis engines.
Phase Shaper is a new phase distortion oscillator with which you can shape waveforms, using symmetry, inflexion, and fuzz controls. It lets you create a wide range of complex textures and cutting-edge tones.
Next to this is SupraSaw, a new supersonic saw oscillator with up to 24 stacked sawtooth oscillators and various controls: detune, pan spread, and blend controls.
Then, 808 bass drum oscillator is a circuit-modeled Roland TR-808 bass drum generator. From soft thumps to hard-hitting punches, precise Tone, Decay, and Pulse controls deliver iconic kick sounds perfect for any rhythmic foundation.
Fourth and last addition is Grains, a brand-new advanced granular engine for deep sound design. It has three operation modes (classic, cloud, and pitch), a fully parametric grain envelope, and per-grain filtering with formant control.
Plus, you have full control over the transport, grain, variation, and voices. At first glance, it looks like a lovely upgrade over the previous granular engine, with a stronger playful factor.
New Effects & Modulation
Falcon 2026 has a huge effects section, which has been expanded with new algorithms once again. UVI has now integrated the lush, expressive algorithm reverb plugin Bloom in the latest Falcon 2026 update.
Shape the rise, depth, and decay to create lush soundscapes, evolving textures, and immersive atmospheres unique to Bloom.
Tube Amp is another addition to the multi-FX section, an emulation of a British high-gain classic tube amp. It delivers the authentic tone, grid, and dynamic response of the legendary hardware, promises UVI.
Third on the list is the new Vowels filter. It’s, as the name suggests, a formant filter that uses precision resonant filters to mimic vowel shapes, allowing seamless blending between vowels for vocal-like textures and expressive effects.
Besides the new effects, Falcon 2026 also ships with new modulators, which make the already super-powerful modulation engine even more mighty.
Voice Modulator is a new polyphonic step sequencer that generates independent modulation signals per voice. It’s designed to achieve animated pads, evolving sweeps, and rhythmic motion.
Further, you have Flow Noise, a new random glide modulation that uses fully-tweakable smooth streams of random values for organic, evolving movement. Here, too, a solid set of new effects and modulators.
New Chord Event & Sounds
A key feature of Falcon is its scripting engine, which lets you build your own MIDI events, such as complex arpeggiators, sequencers, and more. For those who cannot code, there are built-in preset events, which a new one has extended.
Falcon 2026 introduces a new chord generator event that instantly unlocks complex chords and arpeggios. It has seven slots for chords that can be played with a single note press. The interesting part is the details that you can modify per chord.
Each chord can have a different velocity offset and time spread, allowing you to create an arpeggio movement. That’s not all; each triggered chord can also have a distinct arpeggiator, making it a potent composing tool.
UVI has also given Falcon 2026 100 new hand-crafted presets from professional sound designers.
First Impression
First of all, thank you to UVI for continuing to offer free updates to customers, including those who purchased the Falcon 1. Kudos for that. The new Falcon 2026 is another excellent update for its flagship Synthesizer plugin.
The new additions offer many new sound design possibilities. I like the new oscillators, which look super fun. As I said, I hope we’ll get a UI makeover in the future so that Falcon looks like a modern plugin.
UVI Falcon 2026 is available now for an introductory price of 149€ instead of 299€ until November 3rd, 2025. The update is free of charge for existing Falcon users. Every purchase also includes a 100€ voucher for your next Falcon Expansion purchase.
Falcon 2026 is also part of the SonicPass and SonicBundle. To celebrate this new release, UVI has also launched a 1+1 special offer on its Falcon Expansions.

I installed it today and it crashes Cubase upon exit when Falcon 2026 is part of a project…
Crashes upon exit? Like… “You can’t fire me I quit” type of move?
