Analog Sweden has released its Orogon Systems Enigiser clone, SWEnigiser, in a limited black edition with extra features.

At Superbooth 2023, AnalogSweden unveiled the SWEnigiser, a clone/replica of the Orgon Systems Enigiser. It’s an analog Synthesizer from 1996 that wasn’t a big hit and is today super rare. The synth’s own sound and unique analog signal path due to its 15-mode filter are highlights.

In August, the developer launched SWEnigiser Euro, the filter circuit, as a Eurorack module, which I am currently testing. To top off this “enigised” year, Analog Sweden has released the SWEnigiser as a limited edition in black in collaboration with Secret Gorilla.

SWEnigiser limited edition ships with a newly designed black enclosure in collaboration with Secret Gorilla. However, it’s not just a simple color makeover, it also comes with new features.

An exclusive new feature of the limited edition is an additional switch on the back of the unit. It switches between the two filter revisions, offering early and current diode clipping implementations. This adds a new range of filter sounds previously unavailable on the regular SWEnigiser.

The remaining features of the Analog Sweden SWEnigiser Limited Edition are the same.

Features

The circuit builds on a single VCO with sine, triangle, square, PWM, and a saw triangle with slide. Plus, it has a VCO mod bus and a saw shape bus.

Then, it flows into a unique analog filter with 15 different modes (lowpass 1-4, phaser, notch…, etc.), cutoff, resonance, tracking, and volume/drive control. Not to forget, the limited edition also has two filter revisions.

The circuit also includes a VCA with a built-in drive and a sub-oscillator after the filter. The modulation side has a triangle/square LFO with speed and shape controls and three different envelopes: AD, AR, and ADSR. Yes, it’s a pretty unique setup for a single-VCO mono synth.

Like the regular version, it incorporates a full patch bay turning it into a semi-modular synth. It also has a MIDI to CV section with 4x CV out, 3 gate out, 3x gate boosters, and more.

Analog Sweden SWEnigiser limited edition also hosts an audio input that goes straight to the filter with pre-volume/drive control and VCA + attenuator. A white noise generator and a main output are also onboard.

First Impression

The Orgon Systems Enigiser was a unique analog synth, and it’s great that it’s getting a second try on the market. The limited black version looks much better than the regular silver version.

However, with a price tag of 3360€, it is an exclusive synth for people who want this exact synth in this color and with this distinct feature set. For everyone else who wants an Orgon Systems Enigiser clone, the regular version is 1.968€.

Analog Sweden SWEnigiser limited edition is available now for 3360€ + shipping. Each unit is handmade in Malmö (Sweden), and only seven of 11 are on sale. It also ships with an exclusive flight case and a cable set with LED cables.
