ValhallaDSP has updated its epic free ValhallaSupermassive delay reverb plugin to 4.0, adding a new Pleiades mode.
There are many free delay and reverb plugins available these days, but nobody can ignore the ValhallaDSP VahallaSupermassive. Sean Costello released the delay/reverb plugin for free in 2020, and it can probably be found on every system.
Normal, the algorithms you get here for free are on a very high level, not the classic bread-and-butter room or hall, but creative, innovative ones that are fully flexible. Even better, ValhallaDSP updates the plugin every Black Friday with new ones. This year, too. Version 4.0 is now available.
ValhallaSupermassive 4.0
VS 4.0 is out now and features the new Pleiades algorithm. According to ValhallaDSP, it’s not another super creative mode but a more classic one. It is designed to create the smoothest, most natural reverbs yet found in Supermassive.
Pleiades has a very fast attack, and a filtered exponential decay. Sean Costello promises that the reverb structure is inherently dense without coloration. Plus, you can tweak the echo density of it up to 100% without sound metallic.
The new algorithm is more classic but still super flexible. For example, you can achieve very transparent, open-sounding, realistic reverbs and lush reverbs with a natural high-frequency decay by turning up the feedback.
Thanks to the rich and balanced modulation, Pleidas in ValhallaSupermassive 4.0 can create huge modulated reverbs, chorus/flangers, and chorused synced echoes.
First Impression
The epic journey of the VahallaSupermassive goes into the round. The new Pleiades algorithm in the ValhallaSupermassive 4.0 sounds just as fantastic as its brothers and sisters. It was a lovely release and big thanks to Sean Costello and the team for releasing it for free.
And in case you are asking, the ValhallaDSP plugins are in a 365-day Black Friday sale for just $50 each.
ValhallaSupermassive 4.0 is available now as a free update and runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
