Bastl Instruments Kastle ARP is a tiny, fun, semi-modular Synthesizer with tons of melodic output for on-the-go; here is a sound demo.
In September last year, the Czech company Bastl Instruments released a new member to their Kastle family, the Kastle ARP. It’s another mini battery-powered semi-modular Synthesizer in the same format that explores the world of crunchy melodies.
A digital quantized sine oscillator powers the synth. A step sequencer is not onboard. A combination of LFO, a random pattern generator, and the oscillator ensures endless melodic content. Bastl Instruments kindly sent a unit to test.
Bastl Instruments Kastle ARP Sound Demo
I published a Kastle ARP sound demo on the Synth Anatomy YouTube channel yesterday. I paired the Kastle Arp with the Dreadbox Raindrops stereo delay pedal to refine the sound and make it more versatile. The pedal offers stereo delay in three unique flavors: modulation, pitch-shifting, and reverb.
I quickly discovered that the combo harmonizes well and is a good fit. However, I had to attenuate the Kastle ARP signal because it was too hot for the pedal. Unfortunately, you can do this right on the synth. A classic volume control is missing.
I hope you like the demo and get a good impression of what is possible with the Kastle Arp. Active Patreon supporters can also watch the demo directly on the platform. From now on, you get ad-free versions of the YouTube videos and other extra content as a supporter as a bonus.
Bastl Instruments Kastle ARP is available now for 135€.

Nice little combo. I love Dreadbox’s pedals. This gives me some ideas…
