Boochow Instruments has released Delay Lab, a free delay plugin for Korg drumlogue created for chorus and flanger effects.
With the drumlogue, Korg dipped its hybrid architecture into the drum machine/groovebox area for the first time. This wasn’t the only premiere. The Drumlogue is also the first instrument based on the second generation of the SDK Logue engine. This accesses more resources and gives developers more freedom.
The number of third-party plugins is still manageable. Boochow Instruments is one of the busiest developers for the drumlogue. He recently implemented the MI Braids macro oscillator in the logue platform. Now there is another free plugin, this time a simple FX.
Boochow Instruments Delay Lab
Delay Lab is a new free user delay plugin for the Korg drumlogue drum machine. According to the developer, drumlogue already features a delay but it’s not able to produce distinct chorus or flanger effects. So, Boochow Instruments decided to develop a delay that could do that.
It’s a stereo delay that offers positive, negative and cross feedback options. Then, it also hosts an LFO for modulating the delay time. Plus, you can find built-in filters to fine-tune the character of the delay.
The developer says it can be used to make a variety of delay-based effects, including rhythmic delays, flanger, and chorus effects.
First Impression
A nice free FX plugin for the drumlogue. Hope we see more plugins for Korg’s drum machine in the future.
Boochow Instruments Delay Lab is available now as a free download. It runs exclusively on the Korg drumlogue featuring the second generation of the SDK logue engine.
