Zero-G Morphology Evolved transforms Ian Boddy’s 2004 soundscape library into a powerful new hybrid Kontakt synth instrument.
With the Evolved series, the British sample library provider Zero-G is bringing its popular releases up to date for the latest version of Kontakt. The first to be updated was the well-known synthesizer library Nostalgia.
Ian Boddy’s Morphology has now also received a major update with the new Zero-G Morphology Evolved.
Zero-G Morphology Evolved
Morphology Envolved is based on the original Zero-G Morphology library from 2004 by Ian Boddy, originally created for the Native Instruments Kompakt sampler plugin.
Like the original, it comes with all the same 3.11GB of original recordings created by electronic musician and sound designer Ian Boddy.
The big difference from the 2004 version is the environment in which the library is housed. It uses the all-new Orbita engine for Kontakt 8 that introduces a new synthesis architecture, modern FX processing, and expressive morphing capabilities.
The Orbita engine features a hybrid construct, consisting of three sample layers and a powerful wavetable synth taken from the Kontakt 8 core.
Each sample layer gives you access to all 301 original Morphology samples, featuring dreamlike synth textures, atmospheres, and soundscapes. Additionally, you can shape them with various controls, including pan, tune, built-in filtering, effects, sends, and modulation.
Hybrid Engine
The wavetable engine also offers a rich amount of features, including 30 tweakable wavetables, morphing, filtering, a dedicated AMP envelope, and an EQ.
Then you have a flexible effects-routing engine with per-layer effects, master processing, and delay/reverb sends for detailed sound shaping.
One step further, you have the movement page, where you can seamlessly blend between all four sound sources using an expressive color-coded XY morph pad.
Neat, you can morph sounds manually with your mouse or automate it in 3D. More precisely, you have independent animation controls for vertical, horizontal, and orbital motion.
First Impression
An excellent upgrade for the Morphology sound library. Compared to Nostalgia Evolved, this upgrade is significantly more comprehensive, making much better use of the included samples.
I find it very positive that they haven’t forgotten their existing customers and are offering them a great upgrade deal. Considering this amount of new options, it’s excellent deal for them.
Zero-G Morphology Evolved is available now for an introductory price of $41,95, down from $59,95. Existing Morphology users can upgrade for $19,95 using the code MORPHUP. Both versions are available from the official shop and retailers like Best Service.
It requires the full edition of Kontakt 8.3.0 or higher. It will not work in the FREE Kontakt Player.
