Peter from Dawesome has brought fresh air to the market in recent years with his original Synthesizer plugins. His latest virtual instrument KULT is a wild cinematic Synthesizer that uses a novel deep multi-algorithm chaos engine. The sounds coming out of this instrument are rich and extraordinary.
For his new plugin, he first opens the chapter on multi-effects. It’s a significantly simpler plugin compared to the previous ones. LOVE is a new ambient-focused multi-FX plugin for macOS and Windows.
Dawesome LOVE
LOVE is a new easy-to-use single-page user interface multi-FX plugin. It consists of a variety of effects aimed at ambient sounds. However, the main core is a three-type granular engine, including swarm, chop, and robot. Each type has its own sonic characteristics.
For example, swarm cut up the signals into thousands of grains for glitter magical textures, while robot gives every sound a robotic touch. Chop, on the other side, creates unique rhythmic granular effects. LOVE has classic granular controls like grain size, tune, offset, reverse option, and more.
From here, the signals flow into a multi-FX processor with six effects. Starting with a filter with cutoff, resonance, drive, and more. Next, you have a fluffy shimmer reverb with size, pitch option, and a built-in filter with cutoff and resonance controls. Then, it goes into a delay with a ping-pong option. It has feedback, rate, and EQ with low and high cut settings.
There is also a chorus for additional modulation, a super-rich ambient clouds reverb, an algorithm known from other Dawesome plugins, and a phaser.
Further, it features a smart randomization engine which is operated with a virtual cube. Clever, you can lock effects and take them out of the random process.
Dawesome ships LOVE with over 100 factory presets with which you can instantly immerse your sounds in the ambient world.
First Impression
LOVE looks very simple at first glance. I particularly like the ease of use. But it is very reminiscent of the EFX Fragments granular effect plugin from Arturia. The difference is that there is no modulation here.
