Intellijel Flurry is a new module hosting a collection of rich utilities for modular synths, and Amps is a new precision linear 2-channel VCA.
Noise generators and VCAs are often underestimated utility modules for modular synthesizers. In addition to their obvious function of generating big noises and amplifying signals, they can also be used to create varied modulations. And as the saying goes: you can never have enough VCAs.
Intellijel has released two new modules that match this topic—Flurry, a new rich utility module, and Amps, a straightforward dual-channel VCA.
Intellijel Flurry And Amps
Flurry is a new multi-flavored utility module packed with various generators. It includes a clock and random pulse source with modulatable rate, pink, and white noise, sample & hold, slew, and envelope follower. That can already be the feature set for a module. No, it offers more.
It also has a bank of 16 colorful noise algorithms, each controllable with two dedicated parameters. Including vinyl, droplets, wind, FM, shortwave, hiss, particles, and many more. This is a large number of noise types that are great for generating wild modulation signals.
Plus, you can do manual or CV-controlled morphing through the noise algorithms which sounds very tempting.
Amps
In contrast, the Amps module is rather simple and standard. Amps is a precision linear 2-channel VCA with switches for controlling the polarity, voltage range, and phase. It’s nice that sliders have been installed here. More modules with sliders in Eurorack would be awesome.
First Impression
I particularly like the utility module, which offers a lot of functionality and timbres in a compact module.
Intellijel Flurry and Amps are available for pre-order. Flurry will cost 279€ and 169€
