Slice is a sample playback, loop slicer, and beat-making plugin. Samples can easily be loaded into the plugin using drag and drop. Here, you can slice, loop, reverse, pitch shift, or time stretch them. Samples can be triggered either directly through the DAW or using the built-in sequencer/piano roll. So you can create sequences right in the box.

The developers also have built-in an advanced drum sequencer, bass sequencer, and a playlist editor. Further, you can refine your sounds with 4 effects racks, each with 11 built-in effects. Slice ships with over 300 royalty-free factory samples including beat starters and drum patterns.

Very handy is the option to create your own libraries, drum patterns, and beat starters in the plugin which you can sell. Slice saves all samples and drum sounds you use into the project file, users don’t have to deal with files and folders but can simply load new content via drag and drop.

Slice looks like a very useful plugin. However, it is not something that offers something completely new. Many DAWs nowadays offer these functionalities in their own sample player devices. If you have a digital audio workstation without a neat sample player, this could be an interesting product.

Initial Audio Slice is available now for 89,10€ instead of 134,10€  and runs as a 64-bit only VST and AU plugin.
