Texture is a new soundscaping granular reverb plugin that is free only for Christmas and the first release in AudioThing ‘s New Things lineup.
Yeah, you read it right. There’s another freebie for Christmas. This time from the Italian developer AudioThing. Texture is a new easy-to-use granular plugin for PC & Mac. It’s a tool for instant granular gratification
AudioThing (Things) Texture
Texture is an easy-to-use granular reverb plugin with pitch shifting and mid/side mode. The interesting part is certainly the second. When the mid/side mode is activated, the granular effect is applied only to the side part of the input. This means the mid-level is lower on the level, a classic attenuation, and creates a special stereo width effect. However, the reverb is always applied on both mid and side parts. That’s a super handy addition.
The plugin takes its inspiration from techniques used in the soundtrack and sound design of the award-winning indie game The Swapper. According to the developer, it’s the first plugin in a new series of smaller plugin that puts the focus on sound design and creativity. Looking for the next plugins.
