Bandlab Sounds, a new sample/ loops platform that offers you over 10,000 categorized samples for your hardware & software as a free download.
Samples, loops, I think I’ve got 100,000 on my hard drives. Often, however, you only use one or two of them. In the last few years, there has been a lot of movement in the sample market with the entry of subscription services such as Loopcloud, Noiiz, Splice, to name only a few. Advantages of these: sample management inside your DAW, big catalogs of sounds, and preview samples with a click. A clear disadvantage is the subscription model.
Bandlab, the publisher of numerous music tech magazines but also the owner of the free DAW Cakewalk, is now venturing into this business. But different. Instead of paying a monthly fee to get access to the platform, Bandlab gives away its sounds service for free.
BandLab Sounds
BandLabs Sounds is very comparable to Sounds.com from Native Instruments but for free. Yes, no hidden costs, ok, so far. You don’t know how the business will develop. They currently offer you free access to over 10,000+ free loops and samples. All are royalty-free, tagged by mood/genre, instrument, BPM & key, and come in uncompressed .wav format.
The platform access requires a free BandLab account where you can also find featured packs from Arabian Prince, Tasha Catour, Youngr, Joe Ford, Martin Badder, and Kove, They promise more sounds to come weekly.
Not to forget, Bandlab platform also features a free browser-based DAW and other tools that have over 25 million registered users.
