Native Instruments celebrates the release of its three new Massive X expansions with a limited time sale on the full & crossgrade version.

To be honest, Native Instruments didn’t get off to a great start with the latest version of its best-selling software Synthesizer, Massive. At first, Massive X gave us the appearance of beta software. Much was not ready, many features were missing, etc. Thanks to constant updates in the last few months, the “beta-like” image disappeared and MX became a sophisticated virtual synthesis instrument. To get the almost legendary status of his father, there are still some improvements here and there to do.

The number of new preset libraries is also growing for MX, from which the predecessor lived very strongly. New addons are not only coming from talented third-party developers but many from Native Instruments. With Mechanix, Drive, and Moebius NI has recently released three new Massive X expansions. From dancefloor to deep, soundscapes to sublime, each Expansion is curated toward a certain sound or vibe.

Native Instruments Massive X Expansions

Overview

Each expansion features its own style of sounds

  • Combine the instinctive movement of body and sweat with the caustic textures of concrete and steel, and the result is MECHANIX. Crunchy, staccato basslines do battle with guttural synths and abrasive rhythms to create a feverish aesthetic. Built for dark rooms and long nights, these industrial, EBM presets are a workout for speakers and limbs.
  • Slick and seductive, these retro-futurist sounds combine glittering vibrancy with vaporwave and modern synth pop. With 150 presets combining phase modulation, wavetable and subtractive synthesis methods, DRIVE creates a neon-lit soundscape of hazy leads, arpeggios and pads, the perfect backdrop for late night drives with the top down.
  • Rhythmic and melodic – MOEBIUS contains 150 looping presets, tailor-made for the mysterious margins of experimental electronica. Twisting clicks and chirps layer together to create a brain-scrambling array of digital patterns. Using the Performer and other synced modulation sources, these rippling sounds can be endlessly tweaked and morphed for uniquely tangled rhythms and textures.

Deal Or No Deal

To celebrate the releases, Native Instruments is currently offering discounts on Massive X and the expansions. You can save 50€ OFF Massive X and get three expansions (worth 87€) for free. This offer is valid on the full version (now 149€) or on a crossgrade for owners of Massive (now 99€). Is it a deal?

When you consider that Native Instruments has a 50% sale twice a year, it’s less of a deal in my opinion. During these events, you can buy it for 99€ (full) or 74,50€ for the crossgrade. However, these deals don’t include the three sound libraries. If you like more ready-to-use presets from professional sound designers, this current deal could be more worthwhile especially for Massive “crossgraders”. Otherwise, wait until the next big NI sale and grab it with a 50% discount. Don’t forget to consider the upgrades/crossgrades to Komplete that also includes Massive X.

This special Native Instruments Massive X expansion offer is valid from August 24th, 2020 until September 7th, 2020, at the NI Online Shop.
