A sampler is a fascinating instrument that lets you build a complete playable instrument from even the smallest samples.
For iOS and macOS, there’s a new, very hands-on sampler called jAMPLER from Jamp Audio that can even handle granular samples.

jAMPLER is a new AUv3 sampler and granular Synthesizer plugin for macOS and Windows. The “sampler” description is 100% correct for the sAMPLER, as Jump Audio has included the option for live recording.
The app enables you to record, import, assign, and manipulate samples with a colorful set of effects on-the-fly. The concept of how the sampler works is somewhat different than usual.
jAMPLER features four banks, each containing eight color-coded sample slots. You can record in these or import audio content from your library. Samples are activated by pressing the corresponding colored button. The colors are also essential for the mappings.
You can map/assign samples to your keyboard keys using their color codes. This allows you to map different samples via the keyboard or simply create a multi-sample.
The sampler offers classic, handy features, including copy/paste, crossfade, crossfade overlap, built-in filter, and ADSR envelope. and more.
A highlight of the sampler engine is the built-in granular Synthesizer, fully tweakable with controls for wet, density, size, spray, stereo spread, and window shape.
Multi-FX Processing
Once you’ve mapped your samples and finished the instrument, you can refine everything even further. Jamp Audio jAMPLER features a colorful set of global effects that can be used on the samples.
The following effects are available: velocity-controlled filter, LFO, compressor, distortion, EQ, chorus, cabinet, and reverb.

First Impression
At first glance, an exciting new AUv3 sampler. It’s great that it also includes granular synthesis. I’ll have to take a closer look at how it performs.
