Make Noise QXG is a new, four-channel, vactrol-free stereo low pass gate and mixer module for Eurorack with unique routing options.

The PolyMATHS module announced for Superbooth 2025 is now available. Make Noise has released another module today, which can be seen as PolyMATHS’s best buddy.

The Make Noise QXG is a new four-channel stereo low pass gate and mixer module with some nifty extras.

The QXG is a new 12HP four-channel stereo low pass gate and mixer module for Eurorack. It’s another new module for the NUSS or New Universal Synthesizer System.

As a reminder, a low pass gate is a module that combines filter and amplifier-like characteristics to affect a sound’s timbre and its loudness simultaneously.

Like the DXG from 2024, the Make Noise QXG utilizes a new 100% analog low pass gate circuit that does not use vactrols. Unlike DXG, the QXG adds a vactrol button to select between two responses.

You can choose between a slow, low-pass gate-like response emulating the decay time of a vactrol or a fast, precision response that still maintains the gentle filtering characteristics. A fast response can be beneficial when patching QXG with complex and rapidly changing functions, such as those generated by PoliMATHS with the OSC circuit in use.

The QXG also features a new stereo sum output with VC stereo, allowing for quick routing of all four channels across the stereo field. Each channel also has an individual output that removes the channel from the Sum when patched.

There is also one particular feature that makes it the best buddy for PoliMATHS and MultiMod. It includes signal and control input headers for creating pre-patched connections from the outputs of these modules.

Further, you can chain two QXG units to a PoliMATHS for immediate eight-channel amplitude control.

First Impression

Another neat addition to the ever-growing Make Noise NUSS. As you know, more modules are coming, including a multi-channel oscillator, which is teased in the video and sounds very promising.

Make Noise QXG is available now for $239.
