Deal: for a limited time, you can save 30% OFF on the Moog Subsequent 25 analog Synthesizer and get it for $699 instead of $999.
Update: Moog just confirmed the discontinuation of the Subsequent 25
At NAMM 2020, Moog announced the successor to its popular analog Synthesizer Sub Phatty, the Subsequent 25.
Five years after this release, the synth appears to have been discontinued. Moog has launched a big deal on the Subsequent 25 in the US, offering a 30% discount on the retail price. This smashes the price from the official MSRP of $999 to $699 for a limited time, which is the best price.
Deal Moog Subsequent 25
Moog Subsequent 25 builds on the analog architecture of the previous Sub Phatty Synthesizer but with improved circuitry. It’s a duophonic synth with two oscillators, a sub-oscillator, and a noise generator. The signal flows into a classic Moog Ladder filter with 6/12/18/24dB per octave slopes.
In the Subsequent 25, the developers reshaped the gain staging in the Ladder Filter to boost harmonic saturation and analog compression. The result is an overall richer low end. Plus, it has a new high-powered headphone amplifier strong enough to drive the most demanding headphones.
On the modulation, it hosts two ADSR envelopes and a single multi-wave LFO. At the end of the signal path, it includes a re-tuned analog multidrive that overhauls the original grid and growl the Sub Phatty.
A big plus of the Moog Subsequent 25 is its patch storage, which can hold up to 16 patches (four banks à 4 presets). The 25-key semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keybed is also new compared to the Sub Phaty. Pitch-bend and mod wheels are on the left side.
On the backside, you have audio in/out on 1/4″, inputs for filter CV, pitch CV, volume CV, KB Gate, and a USB type B port. Neat, it includes a plugin and standalone editor and librarian for macOS and Windows.
Discontinuation
The price drop is due to its official discontinuation
Introduced as an evolution of Sub Phatty’s analog design, Subsequent 25 refined Moog’s warmth, depth, and character while offering modern connectivity and enhanced capabilities. From its bass and lead tones to its performance features, Subsequent 25 carried forward our commitment to hands-on synthesis.
Effective March 13th, 2025 we will be indefinitely suspending production of the Sub 25 with the remaining units available through our global dealer network.
Moog Music remains dedicated to supporting all owners of the Subsequent 25. We will continue to provide repairs, maintenance, and parts to ensure your instrument operates at its best for years to come.
Deal Or Not
For those who’ve always been interested in the Moog Subsequent 25, this deal is a great opportunity to get a new device for very little. When you compare the feature set with synths currently on the market, many more affordable alternatives exist.
What makes the Subsequent 25 still worth a look is its fat, bassy sound, patch memory, and hands-on programmability.
The deal on the Moog Subsequent 25 is only valid in the US, and for a limited time, you can get it for $699 instead of $999.
