Klevgrand OneShot2 is the next generation of its drum sampler plugin for macOS and Windows, featuring an all-new motion engine and more.
Samplers are currently all the rage, especially in hardware. Software versions are also plentiful. Depending on the task, various samplers are available. The Oneshot plugin is a popular drum-sampler, also loved by many on iOS.
Combined with the new Augmatic Audio GRE algorithmic drum pattern generator app, it could be a powerful drum team. And now the Oneshot sampler has become even more interesting. Klevgrand has leveled up its drum sampler to version 2, called OneShot2.
Klevgrand OneShot2
OneShot2 is the evolution of the Klevgrand OneShot drum sampler plugin for macOS and Windows from 202. According to the developers, it’s a substantial upgrade over its original single-hit drum-sampling concept.
Like OneShot 1, OneShot 2 features a slot system that lets you create individual drum instruments. You can use the built-in library or import your own samples.
The sample engine gives you full control over various per-slot parameters, including mixer channel for effects, levels, and routing. With multi-output support, you can also send sounds to separate tracks in your DAW for further processing.
A major highlight of OneShot2 is the introduction of the all-new motion engine, which lets users create phrases that breathe and evolve over time. For example, timed cymbal swells, shaker figures, foley movements, and virtually any rhythmic sound that you can think of.
This is one part of the motion engine. A second part interacts with a companion app for iPhones. It lets you control the motion engine directly with your hand, using the iPhone’s accelerometer.
It also includes an external sync mode when playing a motion sound, so you are dictating the sound directly with your iPhone.
More Additions
Alongside this, the new Klevgrand OneShot2 ships with a new range of effects. Reverb2 is an easy-to-use reverb unit based on their lovely Walls algorithm.
Then, the Transient Adder, based on the Fosfat plugin, gives your sounds the punch you’re missing or simply adds tonal character. Additionally, it comes with an unstereo tool for narrowing sounds that are too wide.
OneShot2 also gives you the option to stack triggers ( stacking sounds, creating flams…) and to import and export batches more easily. Further, you can now control One Shot durations by note off, copy/paste effects, and more.
To round off this big update, Klevgrand has also leveled up the built-in content in its drum sampler plugin. It now takes advantage of the new Motion engine, and includes many new presets and sounds (310+ Presets, 780+ Slots & 20,000+ samples).
There is also a new Studio Kit with acoustic drums for modern music, and a new Jazz Brush kit rich in nuance and character. The collection of percussion instruments and nature sounds has also been upgraded.
First Impression
An impressive update that particularly piques interest with its new motion engine. This looks like a lot of fun. I hope we’ll see an iOS AUv3 version of OneShot 2 soon.
Klevgrand OneShot2 is available now for an introductory price of $119,99 instead of $199,99 until April 30, 2026. Previous owners of OneShot will be able to buy OneShot 2 for $39,99 during the intro period and then $59,99.
It runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
