DWP-Plugin DWP-16 is a new 16-channel sampler plugin for macOS/Windows with FM synthesis, glitch, advanced modulation, and more.

DWP-Plugin, a new developer company, has launched DWP-16, a powerful multi-sampler plugin with advanced sample manipulation capabilities.
DWP-Plugin DWP-16
DWP-16 is a new multi-sampler plugin with 16 independent channels. Each channel is fully customizable and packed with sample manipulation goodness. In each, you can load mono or stereo samples by drag-and-drop them in the dedicated sample matrix.
Each channel then gives you various sample parameters, allowing you to fine-tune them: pitch control, panning, and gain. On-the-fly sample processing is possible with creative features like loop points, reverse playback, and instant reload.
The new DWP-Plugin DWP-16’s highlight is its built-in FM synthesis engine, which can be fed classic waveforms and longer sample content. You can apply FM to them using three parameters: FM waveform, FM frequency, and FM depth. And don’t forget, this is available on all 16 channels of DWP-16.
Another pillar of the plugin is the built-in, sophisticated modulation engine. First, you get four customizable multi-wave LFOs: three are classic syncable LFOs, and the fourth is a combined LFO 1 and LFO 2 generator.
Powerful Modulation
Then, it comes with two powerful dynamic curve generators that let you draw custom mod curves directly on the waveforms. This is a flexible tool for creating various automation: precise pitch variations, gain envelopes, and more.
The developers promise that all changes can be instantly processed and reloaded. DWP-16 also houses a per-channel 32-pattern sequencer that supercharges the modulation capabilities. In addition to controlling velocity, pitch, and length parameters with the sequencer, you can unlock two custom modulation curves per pattern.
There is also a built-in glitch engine to spice up your sounds. It’s fully customizable (pitch, panning, reverse options…) and infuses all kinds of glitchy and stuttering effects in your patterns. Plus, you get four mappable XY control pads.
Each DWP-16 channel also hosts a multi-FX processor with various algorithms to refine or finalize your sounds: robotizer, distortion, chorus, phaser, flanger, filter, delay, and reverb. Good, they are also modulatable with the built-in mod engine.
First Impression
Compared to the constant flood of new synth plugins, there are still very few deep sampler plugins. Seeing a bit of movement in the sampler plugin market is excellent.
I like that it is not a super classic sampler but a plugin with which you can manipulate samples in various ways. I dig the glitch and FM engine options here. However, I don’t like the somewhat old-fashioned GUI that reminds me of Roland Zenlogy Pro. Nonetheless, it is aneat release at a fair price.
DWP-Plugin DWP-16 is available now for $49,99. It runs as a standalone application and VST3, AU, and AAX (coming soon) plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
