The Bullfrog XL and the Nighverb are the Erica Synths news for this Superbooth. Well, no, something is still missing. Yes, there is also a new module and it’s something special for this year.

Erica Synths has announced an expansion for its Graphic series of Eurorack modules. Say hi to the Graphic Resonant Equalizer.

The new Graphic Resonant Equalizer or ResonantEQ (20HP) is a new hybrid 10-band resonant equalizer. Hybrid because the 10-band resonant EQ part is all analog while the control over all individual bands is digital.

Erica Synths implemented four different filter modes for the EQ: lowpass, bandpass, highpass, and notch. What is exciting here is that you can have analog and digital control over each back. You can either shape the bands using the digital engine or use the individual CV input for each band.

Then, you can create custom resonance loops in the module. This works on a single or several bands. Besides the individual CV inputs, it also has a clock input, allowing you to create clocked modulation or for automated patch selection.

Yes, Erica Synths Graphic Resonant Equalizer has patch memory. Other features are a randomizer for the band levels and a spectrum analyzer mode. Erica Synths says an optional expander will be available for hands-on control of each band’s boost/cut.

The front panel has a big screen, three knobs (input level, resonance, data), 12 buttons, and tons of CV inputs. Besides this, you have a mono input and outputs as well as outputs for the even and odd harmonics.

First Impression

On the paper, it looks like an exciting hybrid module. Thanks to the many filters and the ability to control them all, you can achieve a wide range of filtering effects beyond classic equalizing.

Erica Synths Graphic Resonant Equalizer availability and price TBA.

  1. Was this shown years ago? I remember seeing that EQ screen. That is neat.

I do hope that Erica does a Graphic VCO2 with a tiny touchscreen to draw the waveforms. The original was suppose to have CV input drawing options but apparently it was never implemented…
