At Buchla and Friends, 1010music announced the Nanobox battery case that gives you a carrying and power solution for your Nanoxbox in one.

With the Nanobox, the US-based company 1010music has a series of small, compact, colorful synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines on the market. Not super cheap but fun. One weakness of the series is that they don’t offer an internal battery.  A feature that would fit perfectly to these portable-sized devices.

Also, in 2024, the Nanobox will still not have a battery. So, a power bank and a random case are the must-haves for mobile musicians. Or wait for the official case. Aaron from 1010music announced the Nanobox battery case at the Buchla and Friends event.

With the new Battery Case, you can safely take your Nanobox with you anywhere and power it simultaneously. It protects the screen and makes it safe in a backpack.

The built-in battery can be charged using the USB-C port on the side and, according to 1010music, lasts up to 4 hours. But the Nanbox has to be in the power saving mode with a dimmed screen. In the regular mode, with a display at 100%, you will last around 2 1/2 hours.

You can also use the case with your Nanobox mounted on your desk using the USB port. Further, the case also has a status LED, that shows you how full the battery is.

First Impression

It’s good to see that 1010music offers a solution here. 4 hours of battery life is not so much; it could be more, but it should be enough for jams or mobile use. I hope the next generation, Nanobox, gets an internal battery similar to the Roland “Rolcas”. It makes it a lot easier to use on the go.

1010music Nanobox battery case will be available for $69 in a month from now on the official website and possible retailers.
