NAMM 2023: IK Multimedia has released the AXE I/O ONE, a new affordable audio & MIDI interface for guitar and bass players.
NAMM 2023 started yesterday (EU Time). Many new products have been introduced in recent years. Audio interfaces and MIDI controllers are particularly popular at every NAMM. Often so many that you lose track. This year will probably be no different.
IK Multimedia releases an audio & MIDI interface at NAMM 2023, which is primarily aimed at guitar and bass people.
IK Multimedia AXE I/O ONE
AXE I/O One is a new affordable portable audio/MIDI interface made for guitar and bass players. It sports IK’s exclusive Z-TONE® impedance control, JFET input for warm, tube-like sound, and a dedicated Amp Out for practicing or ramping. There is also a pickup selector, external volume/wah pedal, or switch controller inputs. A feature set very focused on guitar players.
The interface delivers professional audio with sample rates up to 192 kHz, 108 dB dynamic range, and 9 Hz-45 kHz frequency response. It also includes a PURE Class-A mic preamp with phantom power for ultra-transparent and clean recording without any unwanted coloration, preserving the true sonic character of a vocal, acoustic guitar, piano or other instrument.
For Guitars
Every electric and bass guitar is different. AXE I/O ONE’s Z-TONE input circuit allows users to dial in the perfect tone for recording by changing the impedance of the guitar input to go from a tighter/sharper tone to a thicker/bolder tone on the same instrument.
AXE I/O ONE is USB-C bus powered and requires no external power supply. Further, on the back, you can also find a MIDI interface with input and output allowing users to connect keyboard controllers or any other MIDI controllers to play virtual instruments. Good, it works with the latest iPad for use with iOS apps like the ToneX SE or AmpliTube CS.
With both AmpliTube 5 SE and TONEX SE included, users have instant access to a huge library of thousands of gear models and presets to record and play right out of the box, and AXE I/O ONE works with any recording application.

First Impression
At first glance, it looks like a solid audio interface. In terms of features, it’s more primarily for guitar and bass players and less for electronic musicians.
