Puremagnetik Xodoi Synthesizer plugin merges the worlds of FM and granular synthesis into large lush drones and soundscapes.
Many plugins just shine with features. This function there, several syntheses, 100 slot modulation matrix, etc. That you can do the complete opposite is shown by Puremagnetik monthly with their plugin release.
Plugins with unique concepts, broken down to the bare minimum. Very hands-on without the risk of getting lost in the parameters. Xodoi is the latest release and is an experimental sound generator plugin for macOS and Windows.
Puremagnetik Xodoi
Xodoi is a drone and texture Synthesizer plugin that uses a basic FM engine that is fed into a granular resynthesis processor. In the FM part, you can morph between the career and modulator waveforms simultaneously using the shape and variant parameters. From here, the sounds flow into the granular core. Then, it analyses the audio and cuts it into tiny fragments aka grains of sounds. The process that you know very well from other granular synthesizers, whether hardware or software.
In the granular part, you can control precisely the density, and the amount of granular texture applied to the signal. Thus, any alterations made to the synthesized sound are subsequently reflected in the grain cloud. With the latter parameter, you can decide whether you want to play either a pure FM sound or a big granular wall.
Xodoi can act as a traditional dual-oscillator synth, an experimental FM drone synth, or a fluffy-sounding soundscape generator.
At first glance, Xodoi is a small, exciting experimental Synthesizer for little money that creates lovey, bizzare textures.
Puremagnetik Xodoi is available now as a VST/AU plugin for macOS & Windows for $9 USD as part of the Spark subscription service. You can cancel the subscription at any time and the plugins remain in possession afterward. After one month Xodoi will become back-cataloged for a la carte purchase at $20 USD.
