Momo today released an editor for the Novation Peak & Summit hybrid synths that gives full access to all parameters and remote control from your computer.
Novation recognized the trend towards hybrid synths early on. With the Peak and Summit, the UK-based music tech company has great-sounding synthesizers in their range that fuse classic analog and modern digital synthesis elements in an interesting innovative way. High-resolution, digital oscillators paired with an analog filter and distortion that adds warmth and saturation to the signal.
Now there is an inexpensive editor and librarian from Momo for both instruments.
Novation Peak & Summit Editor
The new editor (plugin/standalone) gives you access to all parameters of the Peak/Summit from your computer. In this way, you have hands-on/remote control over all functions plus integration into any DAW. Many parameters that are hidden in menus can also be changed here immediately. That’s super handy. Then, you have a built-in random generator in the editor with which you can instantly create new sounds. Even if they often don’t deliver usable results, the generated sounds can inspire musicians to create new ones.
The interface is very reminiscent of the design of the hardware devices. One point that differs greatly from the Novation designs are the two X/Y pads that are available in every Momo editor. With these, you can remotely control several parameters at once. Useful if you want to create strong sound variations in seconds.
A big plus is that the Momo editor does not require a DAW. It also works standalone on PC & Mac. So everyone who works without a DAW can also benefit from the advantages
The new Momo Peak / Summit Editor are nice helpers at a fair price.
Momo Peak/Summit editor is available now for 6.90€ from the official website. It runs as a VST and AU 32-/64-bit on macOS and Windows as well as a standalone app.
