United Plugins shows with MorphVerb a new multi-algorithm reverb plugin that allows you to morph smoothly between different spaces.
Reverbs are usually very simple: select the algorithm (chamber, shimmer …), set parameters, and you’re done. United Audio makes this workflow more interesting and integrates all algorithms into a morphing engine that allows you to blend near-magical between any two neighbouring types. It can be used to design very interesting reverbs that have a part of each (20% chamber and 80% hall). Also nice if you record it as automation in a track.
MorphVerb covers all reverb types you could think of: spring, ambience, echoes, room, chamber, plates, hall or cathedral. Well not all, where is a shimmer algorithm, one of the most popular reverbs out there. According to the developer, it fills the gap between reverb styles and gives almost infinite possibilities.
Reverb Control
Each algorithm in MorphVerb features controls for width, pre-delay and size but that’s not all. MorphVerb also gives you the chance to tweak the Modulation, Saturation and Compression of the reflections. You can tune the reverb sound to meet your wish with no compromise. Further, it offers a ducking that makes sure that your tracks won’t drown in the reverb. That would be no so great even we love reverbs on our sounds. It will make your mixes cleaner, but still, give them the space they deserve.
HiPass and LoPass filters dedicated to the wet signal are placed on a real-time spectrogram display to deliver an immediate visual response. The spectrogram gives you also maximum control over the Ducking and Dampening effects.
Presets, GUIs & Sound Quality
MorphVerb features over a hundred presets divided into several folders that give you a nice starting point. The plugin comes also with a 3D and 2D GUI which has no effect on the sound nor on CPU load. Here you can choose what you prefer: a little more glossy or classic. It provides the maximum audio quality you can get. It uses internal 64-bit audio processing and can handle any sampling rate. 192 kHz or even higher.
Also onboard is an intelligent bypassing function that ensures that you don’t get any click or harmful noises when automating the parameter.
