On January 10th, Korg will launch a second new Synthesizer for the NAMM 2020 and the signs are good that it will be an ARP 2600 replica.
Shortly before Christmas 2019, Jean-Michel Jarre confirmed an upcoming new replica of the ARP 2600 by Korg. This video has been deleted by the pioneer of electronic music which is a clear sign that this message was not a hoax.
Today there was new dentition for this leak. Korg has announced another new synthesizer in a second teaser, even with a flying case, which is typical for the ARP 2600. You don’t see a lot in the teaser, but it confirms more and more recent leaks and discussions.
The official ARP Facebook page also shared the video, which is also a pretty clear sign. Korg did not acquire the ARP brand name to release new synthesizers but to revive vintage synths like the Odyssey or the 2600 in the KARP version.
If all these signs are not true, then I’ll eat a broom! 😉 We will find out on January 10th if it’s true or not, so already next week. It will be an exciting week in which another new synthesizer will be presented.
