A surprising news reached us this morning. KORG has announced for Superbooth 19 a desktop version of its new Minilogue XD Synthesizer. After in the last years’ people changed Monologues or Minilogues into desktop devices as DIY projects, in the future there will be the excellent hybrid synth also available as an official desktop device.
New in the desktop version is a poly chain functionality with which you can combine two Minilogue XD synths together and expand the polyphony to 8. In my opinion a great new from KORG that will be for sure a big seller, especially because the desktop is even cheaper than the keyboard version.
“The desktop version of our minilogue xd synth is a perfect way to add minilogue xd’s unique sound where more keys may not be necessary. That, in conjunction with its poly-chain feature, means even more options for user looking to add the right amount of analog to their setups,” says James Sajeva, Director of Music Technology Brands at KORG USA, Inc.
KORG Minilogue xd will be available July 2019 with a street price of $549.99 USD.
