Sample From Mars has released two complete TR-808 16 hit sample kits recorded with high-end music technology as a free download!
The best-known 808 day on which musicians celebrates Roland’s iconic TR-808 drum machine is already over but there is a gift that you can continue to download. Sample From Mars released on the 808 day a free sample library that features two complete 808 kits.
The sounds were recorded with high-end audio technology and are now available in various formats for free (Ableton Live, Maschine, Kontakt 5…). The only thing you need to know: you have to join the company’s mailing list to download this library.
Two 808 Kits From Our Upcoming Release
Ahead of our complete re-sampling of the 808 From Mars, we’re offering two new 16x hit 808 kits – recorded through our API console to tape, with a variety of high end hardware processing along the way. These are our best sounding 808s yet. The kits feature clean, colored, and super saturated 808 hits. These samples are not available yet in the current 808 From Mars.
What’s New
- The TR-808 itself. We now have the best sounding TR-808 we’ve ever heard – it was serviced by an original engineer who worked for the company in the 80s, and features a Bass Drum with an unbelievable 4 second decay
- We’ve upgraded all of our gear (thanks to our amazing customers!) – this was recorded through an API 1608 console, into an Apogee Symphony, a mastering reel to reel, numerous high end saturators, and extremely clean, balanced power. This is our best sounding studio yet.
- Our experience and ears. Because of the sheer amount of hours (tens of thousands) we’ve put into sampling since the original 808, we are much more experienced than ever before.
