The new Elastic Drums 2.5 10th anniversary release is a free update that brings eight new 808-based drum synthesis modules.
Oliver Greschke from Mominstruments is working on his new Elastic OSC app. The first teasers have been available since November, and I can already test them in beta. I’m looking forward to the release.
Oliver became known for the app Elastic Drums. It’s a super creative drum synthesizer that’s packed with drum synthesis. This is already celebrating 10 years on the market. To celebrate this special moment, you can now download the new free Elastic Drums 2.5 update with new features.
Elastic Drums 2.5
First of all, Happy Birthday, Elastic Drums. I have had the app for 10 years and still find it inspiring. The highlight of it is its complex but hands-on engine. It’s like having a Syntakt-like drum machine on your smartphone and tablet.
6 channels, 13 super flexible drum synth engines with 12 parameters each, a multi-FX engine, and a very sophisticated sequencer with parameter automation for both the synth and FX parameters.
I love using it to create casual jams or even bigger ones. I used the app as a drum generator a year ago in a live performance.
To celebrate its anniversary, Oliver has released Elastic Drums 2.5, a free update with eight new drum engines based on the legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine.
Just like the other engines, each 808 engine has 12 parameters. The clKick, for example, gives you control over the pitch, tone, decay, release, tune, length, envelope, overdrive, punch, filterA, filterB, and filterC. In addition, the app fixes a bug where the app produced a wrong scaling in Inter App Audio mode.
Yes, AUv3 support is still missing, which is a shame, but hopefully, it will be added in the near future.
First Impression
A lovely update for the Elastic Drums drum Synthesizer app. Big thanks, Oliver.
Elastic Drums 2.5 is available now as a free download for existing users. The app is out now for $9,99 on the Apple AppStore.
