Boochow Instruments Lily is a new free plugin that brings the powerful MI Braids macro oscillator to all Korg Logue SDK synths (gen 1 /gen 2)

Good news from Boochow Instruments. The Lily Korg plugin, which previously only brought the MI Braids Oscillator to the NTS-1 mk2, is now also available for the first-generation Logue synths, including the Korg Minilogue xd, NTS-1 mk1, and the prologue 8/16.

The version for the first-gen Korg synths is also free of charge and available here

Article From August 25, 2024

At about the same time last year, I reported on Lillian, a free Korg plugin that supercharges the Korg drumlogue with the Mutable Instruments Braids macro oscillator. A port to the NTS-1 mk1 was impossible due to a lack of resources (CPU).

The new NTS-1 mkII is now available, and the Japanese developer Boochow Instruments has released its port for the new NTS generation.

Lily is a new free KORG plugin that brings the famous open-source Mutable Instruments Braids macro oscillator to the NTS-1 mkII.

Like the original Eurorack module, it offers five distinct oscillator modes: virtual analog, FM, resonator, wavetable, and noise generation. That’s not all. Each oscillator mode also has different algorithms, including

  • CS-80 style sawtooth
  • triple saw, square, triangle or sine.
  • physical modeling (Bowed string, Bell and metallic drum…)
  • noise processed by a tuned multimode filter.
  • comb-filtered sawtooth wave, and more.
  • and more

All oscillator algorithms share the same parameters, including shape (oscillator algorithm), timbre, color, pitch, modulation target, and more.

Further, you can also archive frequency modulation (FM) with the Boochow Instruments Lily, using the audio input of the NTS-1 mkII.

First Impression

That’s great news for all Korg NTS-1 mkII users. It definitely supercharges this little synth with super power. This plugin alone makes me want to buy a new NTS-1 mk2. Thanks a lot again, Boochow Instruments for this great plugin.

Boochow Instruments Lily is available now with a name-your-price option. It runs as a KORG plugin on the new NTS-1 mk2 and on the first-generation Logue synths.

  1. boochow is really on a roll lately. hopefuly a Prologue II will arrive.

further, technically, it’s not impossible to port Braids to NTS mark I. you merely need to fit the individual models into available memory. drumlogue and mkii have extended memory available. we already have every Plaits model except Chords and Speech (large memory requirements for these in wavetables, and speech fragments; they will have to be chopped into seperate models like the Wavetables were) ported to NTS-1 mark I, Prologue and XD.
