Excite Audio Evolve Elastic takes its hybrid morphing Synthesizer plugin for macOS and Windows into the field of elastic-inspired sounds.
Deal: get Evolve Elaste Lite, the stripped-down version for free with the code MusicRadarElastic from Plugin Boutique. It works until December 1, 2025.
In August of this year, Excite Audio, a developer collective owned by Plugin Boutique, released the Evolve Synthesizer Engine, first with the Alloy, followed by Valvet in September. Both are covered here on the blog.
Just before Black Friday, Excite Audio released Evolve Elastic, another installment in the Evolve series.
Excite Audio Evolve Elastic
Evolve Elastic is a new virtual instrument that shares the same Synthesizer engine as the previous Evolve releases. The instruments differ in their content and macro effects.
According to Excite Audio, the content of Evolve Elastic is inspired by experimental electronic artists like Flume, SOPHIE, and Aphex Twin. It includes over 250 sound sources, covering a wide range of timbres.
Like the other Evolve synths, it offers a hybrid synth engine with four morphable sound source layers with either sample playback with sample import option or classic subtractive waveforms.
Each sound source is tweakable with a handful of classic parameters: pitch, tone, pan, velocity, and more.
From here, the output goes into four elastic-inspired macro effects. Melt combines saturation, bit rate reduction, filtering, and noise to produce a deformed, distorted effect.
Then, Bounce provides a rubbery, bouncy delay while Stretch combines flanging and phasing to produce a stretching and contracting effect. Gloss adds hi-end sheen.
More Shaping & Motion
Then, it has another multi-FX section with dual filters, and 16 effects modules, including saturation, feedback, delay, reverb, modulation, phaser, pitch drift, and more.
On the modulation table, it gives you access to twelve mod sources, including six ADSRs with delay and hold, two LFOs with retriggering and offset options, velocity, and advanced keytracking. The included X /pad also functions as a dual modulation source.
A drag-and-drop system makes mapping modulations a breeze, and a modulation matrix handles and gives you a perfect overview of all the assignments.
Excite Audio ships Evolve Elastic with 250 newly professionally crafted presets, ranging from squelching acid basslines and elastic plus to bouncing rhythmic, futuristic textures, and glossy pads.
First Impression
We have another version of Evolve. As already mentioned in the Evolve Valve article, I’m glad the series continues. However, I would prefer to install expansions instead of a new plugin every time.
Excite Audio Evolve Elastic is available now for an introductory/Black Friday price of 40,30€ instead of 60,97 (33% OFF). The Evolve Elastic Lite version is available for 19,63€ instead of 29,97€, plus an upgrade option.
Existing Evolve customers can crossgrade for 29,97€ instead of 40,30€. They run as VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugins on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
