Tiagolr QDelay is a new, feature-rich, free dual-delay plugin for macOS, Linux, and Windows, inspired by EchoBoy and Replika XT.

In 2025, the developer Tiagolr garnered attention twice. First, for his free, open-source physical modeling Synthesizer RipplerX, based on the AAS Chromaphone. Second, for the release of its open-source FX plugin suite inspired by the Cabeguys ShaperBox series.

Now in 2026, there’s news from the developer. Tiagolr has released QDelay, a new free dual-delay plugin inspired by two famous delay plugins.

Tiagolr QDelay

QDelay is a new free, open-source dual-delay plugin inspired by the Soundtoys EchoBoy and Native Instruments Replika XT. QDelay is not a 1:1 clone; however, Tiagolr’s goal was to develop a plugin with the same capabilities.

It features a stereo dual delay with independent delay times and two distinct modes: ping-pong, ping-pong classic, and tap. Ping pong provides the traditional echo bounce effect, delivering a wider, more immersive, and rhythmic sound.

The classic ping-pong offers the same features, but feedback decay is applied only to one channel. Both modes have a feedback width control. Tap, on the other side, is a delay mode where you can sync the repeat rate to the music’s BPM.

It offers offset time (tap) and delay time parameters. Alongside this, you can modify the delay tap pattern with swing and feel offset controls, as well as an accent parameter for odd or even taps.

Advanced Delay Shaping

Additionally, you adjust the pan using dry, wet, and stereo width controls. In addition to classic delay functions, there are also more advanced sound design options. For example, you can activate a reverse delay option.

Then, it hosts a diffusion processor that can be applied to the pre- or post-delay signal, enabling reverb-like textures. You can adjust it with an amount and size control. Next to this is a modulation engine with depth and rate controls for animating the delay line time.

Also onboard is a saturation unit that can be placed on a pre- or post-delay signal, or on the feedback path. Tiagolor says the saturation algorithm in QDelay is likely not on the same level as in Soundtoys Echoboy or NI Replika XT.

Saturation is easily adjusted with the pre and post controls, as well as the color, bias, and dynamics timbre-shaping functions. That’s not all. QDelay also includes a pitch-shifter routable to the feedback or to the post-delay signal, as well as tape wow and flutter effects.

Furthermore, you can shape the signal with a parametric EQ available on the feedback and input signals. As a bonus, it also hosts a ducking functionality to muffle the delayed signal on input.

First Impression

QDelay appears to be an excellent free, open-source, cross-platform delay plugin with extensive functionality. Thanks a lot!

Tiagolr QDelay is now available for free download. It runs as a VST3, AU, and LV2 plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel), Linux, and Windows.
