Native Instruments Cremona Quartet Ensemble

The Cremona Quartet Ensemble, a Kontakt 8 library, is a new virtual instrument that unites four of the world’s most precious string instruments, delivering their sound with stunning authenticity.

It features four iconic string instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries: the Stradivari Violin, Stradivari Cello, Guarneri Violin, and Amati Viola. The Museo del Violino in Cremona, Italy, preserved these instruments and maintained them with the highest standards of care.

According to Native Instruments, the samples were recorded in the renowned Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi. They carefully captured each instrument’s unique characteristics with a sophisticated 32-microphone setup. The results are meticulous phase-aligned stereo samples that deliver every nuance.

In Cremona Quartet Ensemble, you can explore and play these four historic instruments in one virtual instrument for your DAW.

The new Auto Divisi feature seamlessly distributes parts across the ensemble, while real vibrato samples for sustain and marcato articulations infuse each instrument with vivid individuality and character.

It ships in two main versions or a bundle. Each offers a distinct feature set with a different number of articulations, microphone positions, and more. You can see the comparison here

Native Instruments Cremona Quartet bundle costs $499, $399 for a Quartet Solo and $299 for the Quartet Ensemble. Upgrades start at $99. It requires Kontakt 8 or the free Kontakt 8 Player plugin.
