Amen Break Generator, classic iOS loop player app gets a massive update 2.10 with AUv3 support, macOS version, and more.
Regarding the age, iOS is still a relatively young music making platform. But a lot has happened since then. Even better apps, AUv3 plugin format, etc. The Amen Break Generator app by Aleksandra Wienclawska was an early adopter.
It’s loop player app that allows you to generate in real-time of infinite combinations of this famous Amen break. This includes built-in patterns, and various DSP effects. Then came a time when the app was no longer actively maintained. In 2023 it made a comeback with new features. Today Amen Break Generator is taking another big step with the new update 2.10.
Amen Break Generator Revived 2.10
The new update 2.10 is free for users of the revived version from 2023 and it’s a huge one. All features of the previous versions are still included. You can remix the loop in real-time with your fingers, and smash in various DSP effects (ring mod, filters, flanger, and degrader).
After the update, many iPad users will see a difference immediately. The app now has a native UI for iPads, which makes it look better. Something the app needed for a long time as it was initially just an iPhone app.
Then, the new version ships with a new powerful built-in looper. You can repeat the last 16 steps of the played sequence, enabling seamless looping and overdubbing. This new features brings a lot of variation and complexity into your Amen Break remixes.
However, the big highlight is something different. Amem Break Generator Revived 2.10 introduces AUv3 support for iOS. For the ultimate Amen break experience, you can now host multiple instances of the app in your sessions.
According to the Aleksandra, the AUv3 app includes MIDI capabilities such as transport messages, slice triggering and loop selection using MIDI notes. As Apple would say: we have one more thing.
The new Amen Break Generator Revived 2.10 update also introduces a macOS version for Apple Silicon computers with a matching AUv3 version. Thus, you can create your Amen breaks also now in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and other DAWs.
Alongside this, it comes with a new in-app user manual, various bug fixes and stability improvements. And the app reloads last used breal on relaunch.
First Impression
I am pleased that the app has now taken this big step forward.
Amen Break Generator (Revived) is available now for 3.99. The update is a free update for existing users.

Would be so cool if it could load any sample or offered a large loop collection.
