Rigid Audio Synferno is a cinematic sound module with 3GB of sounds for Kontakt (full) and is available now as a free download.

Many free downloads are plugins, which are always welcome. However, there are also other platforms like Kontakt. Unfortunately, these are usually only limited to Kontakt full users. The reason for this can be found in a separate article here.

This is also the case with the news from Rigid Audio, which has released its Synferno virtual instrument for Kontakt (full) for free.

Rigid Audio Synferno

Synferno is a loop-based virtual instrument for Kontakt 5.8.1 (full) with plenty of customization options. It comes with 350 kits (presets) and 3GB of content that can be played in tandem across four distinct categories: bass, synth, ambient, and grooves.

According to Rigid Audio, the kits in Synferno are built around 1300 WAV loops (unencrypted) (24-bit). Each Synferno kit/preset can host up to four loops that can be played simultaneously. You can also play them polyphonically with time-stretch, with a range of two octaves each.

Additionally, you can play the loops in slice mode. Clever, each loop has its own color-coded range on the keyboard, giving you visual feedback.

The library’s strength is its customizability. You can shape each loop on the main page with a channel strip and various features, such as volume, pan, tuning, space, 4-band EQ, and more.

The edit page then hides more shaping options, such as a filter, two envelopes (filter/amp), a solid bus compressor, a saturator, stereo with, and more. It continues on the FX pages, which give you multiple FX processors: auto-pan, step filter, degrade, screamer, flanger, space reverb, and a delay.

Rigid Audio Synferno also ships with a dedicated sequencer page to put the preset kits in motion. Here, you can sequence the sample and loop offset independently and more. On top of that, you can use a randomization feature to generate new kits on the fly.
