Thomann has kicked off its Cyberweek 2023 with discounts on synthesizers, effects, MIDI gear, guitars, and more. The highlights!
Now the deal season has started for hardware friends, too. After Reverb published the first good deals on hardware products (Korg ARP 2600M for $1149.99), the first deals are now coming from Europe.
The German retailer Thomann started its annual Cyberweek 2023 event at midnight sharp today with discounts of up to 60% on music tech gear.
Thomann Cyberweek 2023
Yes, it’s Cyberweek event again. This means that a selection of products is reduced in price. Since many products, like guitars or trumpets, don’t fit into my coverage area, I picked out the highlights from the relevant categories.
This includes synths, drum machines, groove boxes, audio & MIDI interfaces, and effects.
Big discounts are the big topic again. Here 60%, there 50% OFF. Often, the deals are not as good as they seem at first glance because the percentages are often calculated using the MSRP prices.
Thus, it often happens that gear has been at the same price level for months but is noted as a deal. Comparing prices is super important in these weeks. For me, this decision takes more time on the editing part, but it allows me to give you a more clear overview of what is a deal and what is not.
Synthesizers & Drum Machines
Let’s start with the top topic: synthesizers and drums. Here I have to say that the deals this year are very weak. A maximum discount of 16% is possible this year and this is on the Arturia MatrixBrute Noire. It’s available for 1598€ instead of 1939€.
Otherwise, there are discounts on various Behringer and Korg synths.

Moving on to another popular category: groveboxes. Here is a deal, making a comeback that we knew from summer 2023. The Polyend Tracker is on sale again with a big discount. It’s again available for 399€ instead of 599€ (33,39%).
For anyone who likes it a bit crazily, the Roland SP404MKII in the Stones Throw version is on sale with a 14% OFF discount for 749€. Not big but it’s a discount. Otherwise, it’s quiet in the groovebox section.
Audio Interface & MIDI Controller deals
Less exciting but slightly better deals are available for audio interfaces and MIDI controllers. For example, the portable IK Multimedia iRig Keys 2 Mini MIDI keyboard is available for €49 instead of €109. That’s 55% OFF.
Then, you get an up to 21% OFF discount on the Swissonic MIDI keyboards (EasyKey 25 – EasyKey 61 – MiniKey P25) (Thomann brand), a 15% OFF discount on the Akai MPK 225, and 9% OFF on the Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 BE
To be honest, these are deals that don’t make me fall off my chair with excitement
There are better deals and some highlights on the audio interface side. There are two live audio mixers made for streaming from Boss on sale.
The Boss GCS-8 Gigcaster8 is smashing 52% OFF (299€ instead of 636€) and the GCS-5 Gigcaster5 for 222€ instead of 429€ (48% OFF). One more. The Roland Bridge Cast, another gaming audio mixer is 37% OFF.

Effects
Last but not least a look at the effects section. Here, too, the deals aren’t much better. Except for one exception. The latest Harley Benton Dual FX Guitar Pedals are 50% and 60% off in price. If you want affordable, good pedals, you’ll find something here for your budget. Great with mono synths.

Conclusion
These are the deals that are highlights for me. There aren’t many this year. 10% or so is difficult to call a deal. A weak year 2023 in my opinion.
Only the Polyend Tracker for €399, the out-of-coverage BOSS streaming interfaces, and the Harley Benton pedals are very good deals.
