Erica Synths has released the Stereo Compressor module with side-chain and the EDU DIY compressor module in collaboration with Moritz Klein.
A compressor is an essential tool in music production. They can make your tracks sound punchy, balanced, and loud, while also giving coloration and tone. In studios you can find these as hardware or software in plugin form.
More and more musicians also make complete songs with their modular synthesizers, so it become also a topic in the module verse. However, there are not many Eurorack comps. But Erica Synths now wants to change that with two new compressor modules, one mono, and another stereo
Erica Synths Stereo Compressor
The new Stereo Compressor (10HP) is a THAT-based stereo compressor that adds life and fun to your live performances. According to ES, it is specifically tuned for percussive sounds. It offers controls for the input and gain, threshold, and comp amount. There is also a bypass switch and a stereo link for the built-in VU meters. To round off the package, Erica Synths have added a DC-coupled side-chain.
Everything sounds better with compression – whether you need a bit of extra pressure for your drum sounds or just that extra touch to make your modular mix more nimble and tight, the Erica Synths Stereo Compressor will make your live performances a joy.

There is also a new diode-based monophonic compressor alongside the new Stereo Compressor. This is the first module in a new series of upcoming EDU DIY releases with Moritz Klein. It is designed to shape the dynamics of your sound, adding punch and consistency to your patches.
As with the other EDU DIY kits, the new compressor module also ships with a comprehensive, illustrated manual.

Compressors used to be relatively rare in the Eurorack world. These are beautiful modules giving users more choices in the budget-friendly area.
